A different kind of sequence
The following details apply here. Four complete King-to-Ace runs clear the game. The tableau has seven columns. Moves build down in the same suit rather than allowing cross-suit destinations. Scorpion on bjlongwei.com uses one 52-card deck with four suits.
The initial seven columns
Each opening column contains seven cards for a total of 49 tableau cards. The first three cards in each of the first four columns are face down. Three cards remain in the stock. All cards in the last three columns are face up.
Build in the same suit
The following details apply here. A moved group's leading card must land on a card exactly one rank higher in the same suit. A seven of hearts can land on an exposed eight of hearts. A seven of hearts cannot land on an eight of spades. A King cannot land on another card because no higher rank exists.
Order within a group may vary
The following details apply here. The selected cards do not need to descend in rank to travel together. The selected cards do not need to share a suit to travel together. The leading selected card still has to meet the destination rule. Any face-up card can be selected together with every card beneath it.
Only Kings fill empty space
A few details help explain this feature. An empty column accepts a King or a group led by a King. Cards beneath a moved King do not need to be in sequence. A group led by a lower rank cannot enter an empty column. An empty column is therefore less flexible than an empty column in ordinary Spider.
Uncover another choice
Here are the details for this mode. Undo restores the earlier hidden-card arrangement when the move is reversed. The next hidden card is revealed automatically. An exposed card can carry the cards beneath it when its own destination is legal. Removing all face-up cards above a hidden card turns that hidden card face up.
Use the stock once
The following details apply here. Dealing places a face-up card on each of the first three columns. This Scorpion version permits its stock deal when columns are empty. There are no further stock cards after the three-card deal. The stock contains one final deal of three cards.
Complete a suit
A completed run must descend from King to Ace in one suit. The game removes a qualifying run automatically from the bottom of a column. Moving an unordered group does not make that group a completed sequence. All thirteen cards in a collected run must be face up.
Plan around blocked cards
The following details apply here. A move can carry unwanted cards along with a useful leading card. Replay and Undo let you explore another approach to the same layout. Checking the whole moved group helps you anticipate what will become blocked. Hint lists legal choices without promising a winning continuation.
